This site has good professional development resources. To follow up on the topic of literacy and multimodality, use search terms such as arts integration or connecting with the arts. For inquiry-based approaches, try STEAM [Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics];
This site has great examples of digital storytelling. Students can view the stories and discuss what makes the narratives powerful (e.g., how are modes such as the visual used? How is sound or music used?);
Some excellent examples of digital stories created by students. Lots of opportunities for discussion about how different modes are used to create a cohesive narrative and different genres;
If you want to try digital storytelling with your students, this site has some free digital storytelling tools for teachers and students;
